The Queen Anne Cannabis Club, a Seattle-based marijuana dispensary, has unveiled a new strain of pot in honor of the Super Bowl-bound Seattle Seahawks, more specifically the team’s bruising running back, Marshawn Lynch: “Beast Mode 2.0.”

Some may recall that the very same cannabis club made a name for itself last year in NFL circles when it introduced “Beast Mode,” a potent strain of marijuana grown and named in honor of Lynch to coincide with the Seahawks’ appearance in Super Bowl XLVIII.

Nate “Diggity” Johnson, the proprietor of the cannabis club in question, told TMZ that the original incarnation of “Beast Mode” marijuana sold so well that growers created an even more potent strain just in case the Seahawks made it back to the Super Bowl.

The original “Beast Mode” strain from last year had a THC content of 17.6, and Johnson indicated that “Beast Mode 2.0″ has five percent more THC, putting it well above the average potency of marijuana sold at the cannabis club.

“It’s a super pain reliever,” Johnson said. “And hits you just like Marshawn — hard and fast.”

That is similar to how Johnson characterized the original “Beast Mode” strain: “Marshawn has gears when he’s running and it’s kind of like that. It has a little bit of a slow start and then kicks in.”

Far out, man.
