The Los Angeles rapper was also driving on a suspended license.
Nipsey Hussle was arrested Wednesday (June 24) for codeine possession, according to the Los Angeles Times.
After pulling the rapper over for a traffic violation, officers allegedly found that Hussle had a warrant for driving with a suspended license.
The rapper also allowed officers to search his car, during which they found a bottle of the drug. Because Hussle couldn’t provide proof of a prescription for the codeine, he was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
During their search, the police also found a cup of ice and a soft drink, which along with codeine, make up the ingredients for what is known as “lean.”
Hussle was released after posting $1,000 bail.
